The Strategy Builder lets you define rules that automatically open and manage paper trades when setups go in force. Instead of watching the alerts stream and manually tracking every entry and exit, you describe the conditions once — symbol, timeframe, trigger type, and risk parameters — and the internal paper engine handles the rest. Strategies run through the same setup detection pipeline that powers the scanner. When a qualifying setup triggers, the engine opens a simulated position, tracks it against your stop and target levels, and records the result. You get a live view of open positions and a full trade history without placing a single order at a broker.

Supported markets

The strategy builder works across all three asset classes tracked by the scanner.

Stocks

S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 components. Supports both setup outcome and simultaneous break triggers.

Futures

Major equity index, commodity, and currency futures. Supports both setup outcome and simultaneous break triggers.

Crypto

Leading cryptocurrency pairs. Supports setup outcome triggers only. Simultaneous break triggers are not available for crypto in the current release.

How it works

1

Choose a symbol

Open the Strategy Builder and use the searchable symbol picker to find the instrument you want to trade. Type a few letters to filter across all tracked stocks, futures, and crypto pairs. The picker groups results by market so you can locate symbols quickly even across a large list.
2

Set the trigger

Select the trigger type that opens a trade. Setup outcome fires when a specific setup sequence goes in force on the timeframe you choose. For stocks and futures, you can also use simultaneous break to trigger when coordinated multi-instrument breaks occur.
3

Define risk parameters

Configure your stop loss, profit target, and optional trailing stop behavior. These levels determine when the paper engine closes the position automatically.
4

Deploy the strategy

Choose Active to start executing immediately, or Paused to save the strategy without running it. Active strategies begin responding to the next qualifying signal.

Crypto strategies

Crypto pairs participate in the same internal paper execution flow as stocks and futures. There are two differences to keep in mind:
  • Setup outcome only. Crypto strategies must use the setup outcome trigger type. If you select a crypto symbol and choose simultaneous break as the trigger, the builder rejects the combination and explains why.
  • Internal paper only. Crypto strategies run through the internal paper engine. There is no broker-backed execution for crypto at this time.
When a crypto setup goes in force, the engine opens a simulated position using the same lifecycle as any other market — trade intent, fill, open position, and monitored exit. Position math uses price-appropriate defaults for crypto pairs, so stop and target calculations behave correctly regardless of whether you are trading a high-price pair like BTC or a lower-price alt.
Crypto paper execution is a new addition. If you encounter unexpected behavior, reach out through the support channel.

Searchable symbol picker

The strategy form includes a searchable picker for selecting symbols. Start typing in the search field to filter the list by ticker name or market. Use arrow keys to navigate results and press Enter to select. The picker replaces the previous plain dropdown, making it faster to locate instruments across the combined stocks, futures, and crypto universe. Each result shows the ticker symbol alongside a market label (Stocks, Futures, or Crypto) so you can distinguish symbols at a glance.

Managing strategies

Once a strategy is saved, you can manage it from the strategy list.
Toggle a strategy between Active and Paused from the list view. Paused strategies keep their configuration but stop responding to signals until you reactivate them.
Open any strategy to change its symbol, trigger, risk parameters, or status. Updates take effect on the next qualifying signal — open positions from previous signals are not retroactively modified.
Duplicate an existing strategy as a starting point for a new one. The clone copies all settings and saves as a new paused strategy. If the source strategy uses a configuration that is not valid for the cloned instrument — for example, cloning a simultaneous break strategy onto a crypto symbol — the clone is rejected with a clear error.

Trigger types

Fires when a specific setup sequence goes in force on your chosen timeframe. This is the most common trigger and works across all three markets — stocks, futures, and crypto. You define which setup patterns qualify and the engine watches for them in real time.
The Strategy Builder runs paper trades only. No real orders are placed at any broker. Use it to test strategy ideas, track hypothetical performance, and build confidence in your rules before committing real capital.
